Introduction
In order to recognize the commitment and contribution of youth volunteers towards society, the Steering Committee on Promotion of Volunteer Service (the Steering Committee) of the Social Welfare Department organizes the 2018-19 Hong Kong Outstanding Youth Volunteers Scheme (the Scheme) to select 20 outstanding youth volunteers to participate in the promotion of Volunteer Movement in Hong Kong and exchange their volunteer experiences with people outside Hong Kong.

Objectives
To commend the youth for their contribution and commitment on volunteering;
To widen the vision of the outstanding youth volunteers and expand  their network; and
To encourage young people to be ambassadors in the promotion of volunteering.

Targets Candidates
Youth volunteers aged between 16 and 24, with right of abode in Hong Kong; 
Applicants should possess extensive experience in volunteer service, with no less than three years of volunteer experience and a total of 200 service hours in the past 5 years; 
Applicants should be able to communicate in Cantonese, Putonghua and English; 
Applicants should obtain recommendation from their service organizations, schools or institutions.  The referee should certify the applicant’s volunteer service record by completing the reference section in the application form; and 
Successful applicants are required to assist the organizer to promote volunteering in the subsequent two years.  

Deadline for application: 16 May 2019 (Thursday)  Postpone to 28 May 2019 (Tuesday)

Date of interview: 
1st round   :  22 June 2019 (Saturday) 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Final round   : 6 July 2019 (Saturday) 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.

The interview will be conducted in groups.  The final round interview will be conducted through different mode of activities in a day camp to enable applicants to enhance their self-awareness, better understand their competencies and exchange experiences and insights in volunteer services. Applicants should reserve the above whole day for interviews.  Should any applicant fails to attend the interview scheduled by the organizer, he/she will be regarded as self-withdrawal.
