Introduction
Why do we launch the Volunteer Movement?
Volunteer
Service is an effective means to let people from all walks of life to
participate in building the society so as to develop a caring and harmonic
community ultimately.
In order to promote volunteer service in a systematic
and more effective manner, the Social Welfare Department has launched
a territory-wide Volunteer Movement jointly with Hong Kong Council of
Social Services and various non-governmental organizations in 1998.
