About Volunteer Service

Introduction Why do we launch the Volunteer Movement? Volunteer Service is an effective means to let people from all walks of life to participate in building the society so as to develop a caring and harmonic community ultimately. In order to promote volunteer service in a systematic and more effective manner, the Social Welfare Department has launched a territory-wide Volunteer Movement jointly with Hong Kong Council of Social Services and various non-governmental organizations in 1998. Participation and Inquiries Interested individuals and organizations are welcome to call the Volunteer Enquiry Line at 2234 0100 for details, or contact the Central and District Designated Offices for Volunteer Service. |
| With effective from 3 July 2006, Central Office for Volunteer Service and 12 District Designated Offices on Volunteer Service will move to five-day week operation. New opening hours are 8:45am to 6:00pm, from Monday to Friday. |
