The service was a great success. After playing several games with the children, the hall was filled with cheerful laughters. The children enjoyed and participated in every game actively. They especially showed interest in "creative face painting". Our volunteers, who helped the children to use different figures and colours to paint on their faces and hands, were as excited as the children. Two of our colleagues shared their feelings and experience: - Shirley Li (Accounting Department): "I liked the atmosphere and mood on that day. We could hardly recognize the children were coming from families with social challenges as they were all wearing smiling faces and enjoyed very much in the programme. I am ready and prepared to serve them again!" Noisy Choy(Customer Service Department) : "It was my first time to join volunteer service and get along with young children. I really did not know how to mix with them at first. Though a little boy punched me several times, we finally became friends! I gained a very good experience through the service. It was not a hard job to get along with young children who were unsophisticated and genuine. I did not only gain a piece of valuable experience, but also a sense of satisfaction in serving them." This service programme was organized through the initiative of our colleagues. For each individual worker, they gained precious experience to serve as volunteer. From the view of the management, the message of care and concern can be gotten through the volunteer service. The management also recognized the staff's effort in volunteer service. We deeply believe that we do not only help people in need through our volunteer work, but also expose our staff to all walks of life in the community. It is both meaningful and constructive to enrich each other's lives! ¬üµ½·|ªº½Ï¥Í The birth of a Volunteer Team ¦^·Q2000¦~4¤ë¡A¤½¥qªº¦P¨Æ¦Ûµo²Õ´¸q¤u¶¤¥î¡]¬üµ½·|¡^¡A§Æ±æ¯à°÷¬°ªÀ·|°µ¤@ÂIÂI¨Æ¡C¸U¨Æ°_ÀYÃø¡C·íªì½T¹ê¹J¨ì¤£¤Ö»Ùê¡G²Õ´¥¼ºÉ§¹µ½¡F¤í¯Ê¸g¶O¡F¤º³¡«Å¶Ç¤£¨¬¡A¾ÉP¸q¤u¤H¤âµu¯Êµ¥µ¥°ÝÃD¤U¡A¦P¨Æ¤´µM§V¤O¤£¾Ó¡A§¹¦¨¤£¤Ö·Oµ½¶µ¥Ø¡A¾z¤O½T¹ê¥O¤H´Ü¨Ø¡C ¨ì¤F¤µ¦~¡A¬üµ½·|±o¨ìºÞ²z¼h¥þ¤O¤ä«ù¡A¤£¤Ö°ÝÃDªï¤b¦Ó¸Ñ¡Cº¥ý¡A¥Ñ¥D®u¶À«Ø·~¥ý¥Í¨p¤U·l¥X¤@µ§¸g¶Oµ¹¬üµ½·|¨Ã¿Ë¦Û¹{µo©e¥ôª¬¡A©e¬£°õ¦æ¸³¨ÆªL»ñªÚ¤p©j¦¨¥ßºÞ²z©eû·|¨Ã¾á¥ô©eûªø¤@¾¡A¦¹¥~¡A©e¥ô¼Æ¦ì¤¤¼hºÞ²z¦P¨Æ¾á·í±`¥ô©eû¡A¸g¹L¤@µf¾ã¹y¤Î¼sªx¤º³¡«Å¶Ç¡]©ó¤ºÁpºô¡B«n·|ij¤Î¤J¾½Òµ{¤¤¡^¡A²{®É©Û¶Ò¸q¤u®É½T¬O®e©ö±o¦h¡C¥t¥~¡A©eû·|»{¬°¡uµL°]¤£¦æ¡v¡A¤j®a«Kºc«ä©ó¥þ¥Á¤j·|¡]¥þÅéû¤u§¡¶·¥X®uªº·|ij¡A¬ù¦³2000¤H¥H¤W°Ñ¥[¡^¤W¸q½æ¡u·R¤ß¦±©_¡v¡A¬°¬üµ½·|Äw¶Ò¸g¶O¡A±o¨ì¤j³¡¥÷¦P¨Æ¤ä«ù¡A¨ú±oªÅ«e¦¨¥\¡C¤Î«á¡A±o¨ìºÞ²z¼h¦P·N¨C¤ë©óû¤uÑ¼Ö³¡¤¤¼·´Ú§@¬°¬üµ½·|ªºÀç¹B¸g¶O¡A¦Ü¦¹¡A¬üµ½·|ªº°]°È°ÝÃD±o¥H§¹¥þ¸Ñ¨M¡C ¤µ¦~¬üµ½·|±N«ÂI©ñ¦b¨àµ£ºÖ§Q¤è±¡A¨ì¥Ø«e¬°¤î¡A¤w§¹¦¨¤F12Ó·Oµ½¶µ¥Ø¡A¨Ãp¹º©ó¤¤¬î¸`¤Î¸t½Ï¸`±À¥X¸û¤j«¬ªº¶µ¥Ø¡A¥O¦h¨Ç¨àµ£¨ü´f¡A¬°¥LÌ±a¨Ó§ó¦hÅw¼Ö¡C§@¬°¤@Ót³d¥ôªº°Ó·~¾÷ºc¡A¡u¨ú½ÑªÀ·| ¥Î½ÑªÀ·|¡v¬O§ÚÌ¼Ö·N°µ¨ìªº¡A§ÚÌ°J¤ß§Æ±æ¡A³z¹L§ÚÌ¤£Â_ªº§V¤O¡A¤Þ°_¦U¬É¹ïªÀ·|ªºÃöª`¡C *¦p¦³¿³½ìª¾¹D§ó¦h¦³Ãö¬üµ½·|¡A¥iÂsÄý¬üµ½·|ºô¶¡Aºô§}http://www.midland.com.hk/agency/chi/agent/charity Back in April 2000, our colleagues, in response to the social issues, showed their initiative to form a volunteer team. It's never an easy job to start from scratch. In fact, there are lots of hurdles at the beginning, such as how to organize, promote the participation and secure funding for charity programmes. How the volunteer team grows? First of all, we obtained the support from our top management. Our Chairman, Mr. WONG Kin-yip, donated a sum for the running cost of the volunteer team. To strengthen the co-ordination of the volunteer team, he also assigned some of the managers from the top and middle management to take up positions in the volunteer team. Secondly, to further boost up the participation of the colleagues, we made use of every means, such as, intranet, general meetings and orientation programmes for newly recruits to get through the messages of volunteering to every one. Now, we find it much easier to recruit volunteers than before. Thirdly, to tackle the short of funding for charity programmes, we raised money by selling "caring cookies" to our colleagues at the general meeting where 2,000 staff had attended. We had a great success and most importantly, with the consent of the management, we can receive regular allocation from our social recreation club. Today, with the continual and devoted hard work of our volunteer team, we have sorted out most of the problems. We also completed quite a number of charity programmes with great success. This year, the volunteer team decides to focus its service for young children. We have completed 12 charity programmes and will have more to come up in the later part of the year. We wish that our programmes will bring joy and happiness to the children we serve. We hope that the community would be more aware of the needs of the deprived groups and we would try our best to be a good corporate citizen. ¬üµ½·|©eû·|¦¨û Members of the volunter team ¡u·R¤ß¦± ©_¡v ·Oµ½Äw´Ú Caring Cookies ±´³X¤j¤fÀô®Ú¼w¤½Àï¤Ò¤H¨àµ£Âå°| Concern visit to the Duchess of Kent ChildrenÔs Hospital at Sandy Bay ¡y¼Ö¬I¦Ì¡z¸q½æ¤j¦æ°Ê Volunteer Service for Oxfam ¨àµ£´»´Á¤á¥~¬¡°Ê¡u°ÑÆ[¬ì¾ÇÀ]¡v Summer Programme for children ´_¬¡¸`ÃÙ§U¿ò±ó¨àµ£Ú»¡u E .T . ¥~¬P¤H¡v Enjoy motion pictures with children in Easter ±´³X¡u³Á·í³Ò¨û¨û¤§®a ¡v Visit to Ronald McDonald House
