The Steering Committee on Promotion of Volunteer Service cordially invites organizations/people from all walks of life to join the above brand-new programme.

"Origami Action - Colouring your Life" is jointly organized by the Steering Committee and The Chinese (H.K.) Origami Society to replace the previous scarf-knitting programme. The programme aims at encouraging people to make use of the used paper to make a pot of tulips which symbolize volunteers' love & care, for giving to those people who need concern in community. All are welcome to join. The programme not merely show volunteers' concern, it can also raise the public's awareness of environmental protection, nurture people's perseverance & facilitate their creativity.

To widen the participation, The Steering Committee especially set up a series of awards including "Organization Certificate", "The Most Finest Origami Award" & "The Most Creative Origami Award", etc., in order to recognize the organizations' contribution. For the details of the programme, please refer to the Programme Content (with Application Forms). Interested organizations please return your application form on or before 30.9.2004. Individual participants may approach 13 District Origami Product Collection Points for application.

The "Kick-Off Ceremony of the Origami Action - Colouring Your Life" was held in afternoon on 27.6.04. All are welcome to join. Besides, the Origami Tutorials will be held in both July and August of 2004 at 5 different districts. Participating organizations may nominate representatives to join and transfer the skills to other volunteers. The demonstration of paper folding can also be viewed on Volunteer Movement Website
