News Update ¬¡°Ê®i¡u¸q¡v±m Campaign Evergreen¡u¶Ç¤ß¶Ç¸q¡v­p¹º Campaign Evergreen is a major initiative of the Volunteer Movement in this year. The Campaign aims at promoting mutual care and concern among people in Hong Kong. Organizations from cross sectors are called for to form a caring network while volunteers are mobilized to show concern to people facing difficulties and help them face their life challenge positively. The Launching Ceremony of the Campaign Evergreen was held on 7.7.2002 with Mrs Betty Tung, Wife of the Chief Executive and DSW as the officiating guest. The objective of the programme was to strengthen the understanding, knowledge, and skills of the participants in corporate volunteering. Ms Virginia Choi, President of the Hong Kong Institute of Human Resources Management gave a presentation on the benefit of volunteering from a human resource management perspective. Six corporations namely, The Hong Kong & China Gas Company Limited, Swire Properties, The Hongkong & Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited, Pacific Century CyberWorks Limited, MTR Corporation Limited and Well Born Real Estates Management Limited shared their experiences on volunteer management; in particular on starting up, sustaining, recognizing and administrating the staff volunteer team within corporations in the workshops. Over 80 participants from 48 corporations joined the event. Their feedback was positive and encouraging.
