「社區是我家 由關懷長者開始」分享會

社會福利署推廣義工服務督導委員會轄下社團義務工作推廣小組於本年一月推出「社區是我家 由關懷長者開始」活動，目的是希望鼓勵居民組織成立義工隊，服務社區內有需要人士及發揚鄰舍守望相助的精神。為讓居民組織更了解此活動及進一步認識社區義務工作，推廣小組於三月十二日(星期六)假葵芳新都會廣場帝豪會舉行活動分享會。是次分享會邀請到社會福利署助理署長(青年及感化服務)蔣慶華先生、香港物業管理公司協會第一副會長黃繼生先生、推廣小組委員陳陳秀瑛女士及陳祖澤先生擔任主禮嘉賓。出席的嘉賓超過240人，包括居民組織、物業管理公司及長者支援服務隊的代表。

分享會上推廣義工服務督導委員會秘書林紹裘先生簡介活動內容，社會福利署安老服務科高級社會工作主任張林淑儀女士及香港明愛-元朗長者地區中心長者支援服務隊單位主任馬玉霞女士介紹了長者的需要及現行社區所提供的長者支援服務。天澤邨澤宇樓互助委員會及寶雅苑業主立案法團代表分享了他們在策動屋苑居民參與義務工作的心得和經驗。最後，富城物業管理有限公司高級集團經理(市場服務)梁偉成先生講解物業管理公司在協助居民成立義工隊及參與義務工作時所扮演的角色。

「社區是我家 由關懷長者開始」活動自年初推出至今已有54支居民義工隊參加，並在分享會中獲頒發「愛心屋苑標誌」。委員會秘書處已將54支居民義工隊配對給全港22隊長者支援服務隊，義工隊即將投入社區義務工作，服務有需要人士。

"Caring For Our Community - Starting From Serving the Elders" Sharing Session

The Sub-Committee on Promotion of Volunteering in Community Organizations under the auspice of Steering Committee on Promotion of Volunteer Service, Social Welfare Department launched a "Caring for Our Community - Starting from Serving the Elders" in January 2005. The programme aims at encouraging resident associations to form volunteer teams and serve those people in need in the community. In order to facilitate the residents' understanding to the programme, the Sub-Committee held a Sharing Session on 12 March 2005 (Saturday) at Grand Royal Club in Kwai Fong. Mr. CHEUNG Hing-wah, Assistant Director of Social Welfare (Youth and Corrections), Mr. Cliff WONG, the 1st Vice President of the HK Association of Property Management Companies Limited, Mrs. CHAN CHAN Sau-ying and Mr. CHAN Cho-chak, members of Sub-Committee officiated at the event which was attended by more than 240 guests representing the resident associations, property management companies and STE.

Mr. LAM Shiu-kau, Secretary of Steering Committee on Promotion of Volunteer Service briefed the programme. Mrs. CHANG LAM Sook-yee, Senior Social Work Officer, Elderly Branch of Social Welfare Department together with Ms MA Yuk-ha, Officer-in-charge of Caritas - Hong Kong Yuen Long District Elderly Community Centre jointly talked about the need of elderly and the supporting services for the elderly. The representatives from Mutual Aid Committee of Chak Yu House, Tin Chak Estate and Po Nga Court Owners' Incorporation shared their valuable experience in mobilizing the residents to join volunteering. Lastly, Mr. Bevis LEUNG, Senior Group Manager – Marketing Service of Urban Property Management Limited introduced the role of property management company in helping the residents to form volunteer team and join volunteer services.

Since its launching, 54 resident association volunteer teams had registered to join the programme and were awarded of the "Caring Estate Logo" at the Sharing Session. The matching of the said resident associations to 22 "Support Teams for the Elderly" was completed. The volunteer teams are going to organize volunteer services for serving the needy in the community.
